Presentation transcript:

Dark Chocolate Mini Muffins

* 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour * ¾ cup whole wheat flour * ¼ cup granulated sugar * ¼ cup brown sugar * 3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder * 1 ½ Tsp. baking soda * ¾ cup fat-free milk

* ¾ cup unsweetened applesauce * 1 Tbsp. cooking oil * 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar * 1 tsp. vanilla * 1/3 cup of miniature semisweet chocolate pieces

* This recipe says that it will be able to produce 18 muffins. Assuming that each person would eat 1 muffin, it could feed 18 people. To feed our class I will have to increase the recipe by 33% to make 24 muffins. I found 33% by subtracting 24-18=6 and 18/6=3 which would equal 33%.

* 5/8 cup of all purpose flour * 3/8 cup whole wheat flour * 1/8 cup of granulated sugar * 1/8 cup of packed brown sugar * 1 ½ Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder * ¾ tsp. baking soda * 3/8 cup fat-free milk * More ---->

* 3/8 cup of unsweetened applesauce * ½ Tbsp. cooking oil * ½ Tbsp. molasses * 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar * ½ tsp. vanilla * 2/10 cup semisweet chocolate pieces

* 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour * 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour * ½ cup granulated sugar * 6 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder * 3 tsp. baking soda * 1 ½ cups fat-free milk More 

* 1 ½ cups unsweetened applesauce * 2 Tbsp. cooking oil * 2 Tbsp. molasses * 4 tsp. balsamic vinegar * 2 tsp. vanilla * 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate pieces

1.7 cups all purpose flour 1 cup wheat flour 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1/3 cup brown sugar 4 Tbsp. unsweetened brown sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 1 cup fat free milk 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce 1 1/3 Tbsp. cooking oil 1 1/3 Tbsp. molasses 2 3/5 tsp balsamic vinegar 1 1/3 tsp vanilla < ½ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

* Half the recipe: I divided the fractions and numbers by 2. With tricky fractions like 1/3 I rounded up to 2/10. Double the recipe: All I did was double the fraction. For example, 3/4 X 2 = 1 1/2.
