Why Pride is a Sin When pride is based on possessions the sin is idolatry.

“Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches And was strong in his evil desire.” - Psalm 52:7

Why Pride is a Sin Pride in self-sufficiency denies God’s power over you.

Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart. - Job 37:24

The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, “There is no God.” - Psalm 10:4
