HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW

A bill becomes a law by first be introduced in the Senate or the House of representatives Only the House of representatives can introduce a bill about money When the bill is introduced in the Senate, 2/3 of senate have to approve it, or the bill is dead. If they do agree, it is passed onto the House When it is given to the House, they have to discuss and vote on the bill. If they disagree with it, it get s sent back to the Senate for changing. If they do not want to make changes, the bill dies. If the House improves the bill, it is sent to the president for his approval HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW

If they president agrees, he sign it, and it becomes law If he doesn’t sign it for ten working days, it automatically becomes a bill. If he doesn’t agree, he vetoes it Veto is when the president doesn’t thin the bill is worthy of being passed and doesn’t want it to be a law If the president doesn’t sign the bill within ten days after the congress is gone, the bill dies HOW THE PRESIDENT MAKES IT A LAW vivirlatino.com

POWERS GIVEN TO CONGRESS

The power to tax This means that the congress gets to decide weather to raise or lower taxes POWERS GIVEN: newsrealblog.com

The power to regulate trade This means they can find one main currency and make the exchange rate all the same POWERS GIVEN:

The power to make post offices This means that they make and run the post offices and hire the people to go with them POWERS GIVEN: wahi.typepad.com

Another power given to Congress is the power of Naturalization This means that they control all the people that come into the United States POWERS GIVEN: ancestorsatrest.com

Enumerated powers are powers are given to the congress by the Constitution, they are named directly in the print Implied powers are powers given that are general. The constitution only gives hints on what to do Inherent powers are powers that are unlisted in the Constitution that they have to have just because its exists as a government SPECIAL POWERS

LIMITS ON CONGRESS derekmiller.us

The first limit put on Congress is that they could not make any laws outlawing the slave trade until Since the tension between the north and the south states for freeing or slaving the slaves. LIMITS ON CONGRESS rlv.zcache.com

The second limitation is the legal term known as habeas corpus. It literally means you shall have the body. It allows a person to be seen and heard in a courtroom by a judge. LIMITS ON CONGRESS

Outlaws Bills of Attainder Bills of Attainder is a law the convicts a person of a crime and punishes them without a trail LIMITS ON CONGRESS

Congress cannot pass ex post facto laws An ex post facto law is a law that punishes people for a crime that was not a crime when they did it For Example: – If Adam was digging holes on Monday, the congress made it a law that you could not dig holes on Wednesday. Adam can not be put to jail because he dug holes on Monday, before digging holes was made illegal LIMITS ON CONGRESS Blosgspot.com

Congress cannot tax products from a state Which means that the Congress cannot tax products from one state, but all of them. LIMITS ON CONGRESS

Delegated powers- Delegated powers are powers that are given to the national government only Concurrent powers- Concurrent powers are powers shared between the national governments and the state governments Reserved powers are powers only the states have. SPECIAL POWERS GIVEN TO CONGRESS

If I were to choose, I would not be a member of this branch of this government. I would not because I would not want to make laws. I don’t like to disappoint anyone, so I would have to compromise everything. That would take an even longer time. Also, I think this branch is very complicated. To many steps for 1 thing. No, I would not be a part of this branch. Also I would not want all the people who aren’t happy to all hate me WOULD I EVER WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS BRANCH?

If I could make this branch change any law, it would be to have the minimum age of people for a job be 13. But just not more than once a week. We as thirteen year olds are responsible! And giving us a job once a week will get us ready for the real world. For some of us, it would be beneficial to earn some extra money. To go shopping more, to pay for your own stuff, etc. WHAT LAW WOULD I CHANGE IF I COULD CHANGE ONE?

In my opinion, This branch impacts my life by protecting me. If we didn’t have laws, we would be unprotected by the crazy chaotic freaks. It says what not to do, so people can’t murder us for example. If that wasn’t a law, people could be running the streets and killing random people. HOW THIS BRANCH AFFECTS MY LIFE
