Cloudscape Photography  Ralph Steiner  Robert Davis  Ansel Adams

Basics Style – obviously clouds Color, timing, lighting, steadiness, and form Some people try to shoot the different shapes that clouds form others like to capture colored and storm clouds.

Random Info Cloudscape is done in forms of several cultures, Outdoor Photographers, Nature’s Beat Photography, national Geographic Magazine Nature’s Beat Photography and Audubon Magazine. Open air locations are necessary for this style of photography. This style is becoming very popular as a hobby for most people. This is used mostly for morning and evening shots, using

Cloudman Photography Tips Keep your camera still if possible use tripod Continuously use haze or sky filter Continuously use a polarizing filter Use natural density filter Become aware of the characteristics of the light around as you photograph the art of composition must be learned When photographing a halo or a corona find something that can block the disc around the sun. Remember that the clouds are always moving and no photo will ever be the same so when u see something in the clouds u like snap a shot when u have the chance Practice, Practice, Practice Study Master Photographers photos to capture the true visual of what its about Always have extra batteries, batteries do die don’t let it happen to you

Random Facts This style seems simple but is actually very difficult depending on weather, color is a pleasing setting but the black and white is more pleasing because it doesn’t always matter if there are different colors in the clouds to catch a good shot. People also use this form to try to catch different shapes that the clouds form as they roll through the sky. These photos are best taken with a regular wide angle lens, tripod, and fine grain filter. “The contemporary uses for these images are in poetic publishing, photography publications, motivational posters and literature and art galleries.”
