THE STORY OF MADELEINE ASTOR (A TITANIC ADVENTURE) By Chloe Simms

Do you stroll around to see the view? Introduction You are the wealthy Madeline Astor grabbing the opportunity of a lifetime with a baby awaiting to be born. It’s a beautiful day as the sun shines through your long wavy hair. Currently, it is 14 th of April in the year of :30 am and you’re waiting patiently for your turn to step on the Titanic for the first time ever! About 10 minutes later, you are already walking through the luxurious hallways, looking at the amazing paintings. Meanwhile, your husband goes on a stroll to look at the views. Do you go straight to your cabin?

Do you lie down for a rest? You go to your cabin Do you go for a stroll? Finally, you decide that going to the cabin would be a reasonable idea, so you leave your husband and find your cabin door, the door gradually opens and you find yourself standing In complete awe. You look around the grandeur room suddenly feeling extremely excited… you kneel down onto the soft violet carpet opening your bag as white as snow on the whitest Christmas. In about 5 minutes your clothes are all packed neatly into the wooden draws.

Is John pleased to meet the captain of the ship? You go for a stroll around the ship Is John cross because you went off alone? Eventually, your husband –John Astor- Decided to come meet you inside of the cabin and of course… he does exactly what you did when you took the first glimpse of the cabin, he looks around and starts to study the photos for his hotels. After a while, you get very bored, so you decided to walk out the cabin without him noticing. Rushing through the empty corridors you hold your stomach tight, but you stop and see captain Smith walking towards you, “Madeline, Madeline!” called Captain Smith happily, “Its lovely to see you on my ship!”. You start to smile and reply, “Edward, Hello! I never knew you were going to captain this ship!!” you chat with Edward for about 10 minutes about your baby, before John comes running towards you, “Madeline, here you are! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!!” John yells whilst panting constantly. “I’m So sorry John! I just so bored standing around in that cabin of ours,” you try to persuade him that you’re sorry,” And look! On the bright side.. Its Edward Smith! Our old neighbour, remember?”

You lie down for a rest You go for a stroll around the ship. Returning to your divine suite, you make up the point that going to sleep would be a nice idea. After at least 15 minutes of wondering around the ship, you find your cabin at last! The door squeaks open as you walk inside of the grandeur room… you seem to be very exhausted of walking around the ship (almost like a mini adventure). Persistently yawning, you lie down onto the soft bed and close your eyes!

Do you run away upset? Your husband is cross with you Do you stay and sort things out? Your husband –John Astor- eventually comes sprinting towards you sighing and panting. "Madeline, Madeline! Here you are my lovely darling!” John exclaims, “ I have been looking for you everywhere for you!” John has his hands and his hips and you reply with, “ I’m sorry John, I just thought that maybe going for a walk would be a good idea?” You suddenly smile and point towards the captain – Edward Smith. “I don’t care right now! Why did you leave me? “Your husband says to you.

Your husband is pleased to meet the captain of the Titanic You enjoy the rest of the trip with John – THE END You watch John and Edward talk to each other and it goes much better than you expect! So you exclaim politely,” Sooo,you two… how about you get to know each other and ill go explore some more?” You run off smiling.

You stay and sort things out You enjoy the rest of the trip with John THE END You watch John and Edward socialise and it doesn’t go as well as you expect. The two men fall out and don’t agree with what one another. So you say impatiently, “MEN! This isn’t how I want you to socialise with each other! Calm down and get along with each other for goodness sake!” So without a doubt, the two men start to get along.

You run away upset You decide to go left Downhearted and frustrated, you run down the corridor filling your hands with tears. You zoom down the stairs leading into 2 nd class, but all of A sudden… you feel a peculiar shiver going through the floor beneath your feet! ‘Clickkkkk Cli Clickkkk’ the lights are switching on and off almost as if they went to sleep and awoken a second later. ‘BASHHH!’ the power of the ship tumbling and turning forces you to the ground. Sucking out all your happiness and hope, your heart is a drum pounding to a loud song; you struggle to get back up –You’re way too weak. Looking out of the cracked windows, water jumps up and scares you immensily! You decide to go right

You take the left corridor Do you go back the way you came? Filled with horror, you run down the left corridor with tears streaming down you pale face, hoping your husband doesn’t catch up. There’s a staircase. So as quick as a flash, you run towards them; they’re blocked and you begin to cry even more than you originally planned… ‘SCREEEECH!!!!!!!’ you turn around and see the ship slicing in half then water comes racing towards you. The Titanic is now a water chase! Over all the things that is going on, all you seem to care about is your husband, but lucky behind your back he’s running towards you.You both Manage to fight through the indoor-waves together. Unexpectedly, you find yourself standing in-front of another two corridors, yet you still do know that standing still will cost you your life! Everything seems to go completely silent… then ‘WISHHHHHH’ the water comes banging against the doors but that’s only when you notice that the water is dancing around you, almost like it’s waiting for you to surrender. Do you take the right corridor?

You take the right corridor You go back the way you came Utterly perplexed, you stop… almost as if you see a huge beast standing right ahead of you. “Madeline! Why are you standing still?” John cries desperately. Completely ignoring John, you run down a staircase leading into the 3 rd class corridor but there’s nothing to be seen- Only destroyed cabins and flooded hallways! “John, can’t you hear the screaming and crying? People are blocked behind that door!” You shout. BANG, BANG, BANG!! Passengers are banging desperately on the door pleading for help. Grabbing John’s dry hands, you drag him towards a hole in the ship floor, “John, you seriously need to free them people from underwater! Please do this for me?” You beg. Whilst crying, you hug John and he whispers confidently into your ear, “Ok, ill do this for your sake, don’t worry, I will save them before you know it!” Not so sure, you let John go… he jumps into the ice-cold water with all his might. Now, he is out of sight. It’s coming up to 10 minutes since John left ; you’re worried sick about him making it. “Hello? Are you guys ok? My husband is going to help all of you, just hold tight!” You exclaim sheepishly. SPLASH, from behind you, John and 6 other passengers come from below the ship. “WOW, you were amazingly right! Your husband saved us like a real hero! Thanks so much!” thanked a lady who was accompanied by her daughter.

Gasping for oxygen, you run to the top deck hoping for survival. However, you cant see John anywhere, you call John’s name as loud as you possibly can but he still isn’t answering. Suddenly, you hear a man shouting to the top of his voice, “There is an empty lifeboat, please remain silent and we will get people on it now!” He shouts whilst jumping up and down. Many minutes later, you’re husband John catches up and you are let on to a lifeboat still not realising that children are going to die because you took their spot. You gratefully say to your husband, “We’re safe! I thought we were going to be stuck on that ship forever!” You go back the way you came.
