Graphics Navigation Usability Typography Content Clarity & Consistency

Use files such as jpg. or gif. as they have a low file size and wont slow down the loading of web pages. Images must be clear and able to see but not too big as image may become distorted.

Easy links to go between pages on website must be available. They should be easy to identify and be well described. Headings are also important as the user should know where they are. Links to other websites may also be useful.

Keep things simple Let the user clearly see what functions are available White space is used to give balance, proportion and contrast to a page. The most important content should be easily perceived

Make sure you are using the right font for the audience. Make sure your text sizes are consistent, large enough to be read, and proportioned so that headings and sub-headings stand out appropriately. Spacing between lines and away from other objects is important to consider. Generally your lines of text shouldn’t be too long. Small columns of text work much better (think about how a newspaper lays out text). Use high contrasting colour for the text. Stick to left-aligned paragraphs as justified creates weird gaps between words.

Should be high-quality Provide sufficient contrast between background and text should match the purpose should be well organized should be spellchecked should be current information should be appropriate for the audience

Use the same template on each page Create a uniform colour scheme Be sure there is sufficient contrast between background and text Avoid a too large font that SHOUTS Avoid a too small font that is hard to read Place important information near the top Avoid long lists of links Categorize lists in smaller chunks and provide internal tags Provide a table of contents
