A unit rate compares a quantity to one unit of the other quantity. Example: 45 miles per hour Unit Rate = Example: $8.00 for each pizza Unit Rate = In this example you found a special kind of unit rate, called the unit price. This is the price per unit and is useful when you want to compare the cost of an item that comes in different sizes.
