Clues about meaning

 The roots scrib/scrip as in scribble and description and the root graph as in digraph both mean “write” or “record”.

 N. –A note added after ending a letter (Often abbreviated PS)

 N. An order for medicine or other treatment written by a doctor.

 N. Before the invention of printing, a person who wrote books by hand; a writer

 N. The text of a play, movie, or broadcast.  A great example can be found in our Interactive Reader looking at the play “The Prince and the Pauper”

 N. An order for, or a pledge to pay for, regular copies of a publication, a group of plays or concerts, and so on.

 N. A life story written by the person who lived it.

 V. To sign one’s name.

 N. An account of someone’s life written by another person.

 (also derived from the Greek ge meaning “earth”)  N. The study of the features of the different places on earth.
