 Research the Job and company  Review the Job Requirements  Know your Resume  Know where you are going  Be prepared to give Behavioral Based examples  Anticipate Questions  Be prepared to sell yourself

 Visualize yourself in the interview  Know this: There is no question you cannot answer You are well suited to the position You will be an asset to the department

 Bring:  Extra copies of resume  Paper and pen  A list of potential questions  Breath mints  Directions to the interview site

 Be prepared and Responsive for Questions  Take time to organize your thoughts  Make effective eye contact and smile  Express confidence in your abilities  Consider each interview an adventure  Be attentive to body language  No Gum

 Thank you note Writing a thank you letter after an employment interview is a must. In fact, some employers think less of those interviewees who fail to follow-up promptly. Plan to send out your thank you letters as soon as possible (preferably within twenty-four hours) after your interview.

 Work with a partner and do the following: -Choose 3-5 Interview Questions from the list provided on the next slide. -On piece of paper in your notes section of your DMA Notebook, jot down notes about how you would respond to a question during an interview both verbally and non-verbally. What does this object say about you?  Describe a time where you have been required to perform as part of a team.  Where do you expect to be in 5 years?  Name your greatest strength and weakness.  Tell me about a challenging situation/challenge you have faced and how you overcame it.  What have you learned from previous jobs or an experience or class that helped prepare you for a job?  What would a previous employer or a responsible adult say about you?
