Respect Enjoyment Punctuality Responsibility Lead by Example Sportsmanship Work Ethic

Put simply all of these values combined go some way towards what a player needs to get to the top. Dedication Application Perseverance Commitment Ownership No Fear of Failure

THEY ALL WORK RIDICULOUSLY HARD AT THIER CRICKET!!!! ‘Skill’ & ‘Talent’ alone, are NOT enough!!

As a player on the Dorset EPP you will be supported 100 % by ALL coaches & support staff involved. In return all we ask is as follows:  Attend 80% of EPP sessions over the winter (minimum of 14 out of 17 sessions or more) **Subject to mitigating circumstances / exams, illness, injury etc. ** (1 st Class Academy Cricketers: If commitments clash Academy always comes first)  Demonstrate a willingness to share in and support the EPP vision.  Uphold and maintain a strong work ethic.  Be prepared to go the extra mile. Please be aware, if a player or player’s are deemed to not meet the above criteria, the player or players in question will be released from the EPP. This is of course the very last thing that anyone would want to see.

Where are we? Where do we want to be? How are we going to get there?

Player Appraisals are a standard procedure across most high performance cricket programmes. Every player involved in the programme will have two appraisals across the course of the winter. Essentially this is just a case of the player (and parents) sitting down with the coaches and simply reviewing the players progress, going through any concerns (should any arise) and looking at ways to progress forward. Players: You will be informed about your appraisals at least two weeks in advance. DON’T PANIC!!

To summarise, the primary purpose behind the Emerging Player Programme is to give the elite players in the Dorset Cricket Pathway an opportunity to go some way towards being the best they can be, to take the next step along the player pathway journey and also to develop as both players and individuals. “Be yourself with skill & enjoy it”
