Bio  Parris is from Auckland, New Zealand  She is the youngest of four kids growing up in Manurewa, Auckland  She is Polynesian  She has been dancing since the age of 3, and trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary at a performing arts school  She began dancing hip-hop at age 10

Bio continued  At 12, she discovered a love for hip hop music to express her style of dancing known as ‘Polyswagg’  At 15, she was offered a spot to be part of another dance crew but declined the offer to form her own dance crew, ReQuest, and open The Palace Dance Studio with the help of her father, who is also now her manager  ReQuest Dance Crew is an all-female hip hop dance crew formed in 2007, with originally five members. They are based out of The Palace Dance Studio in Penrose and Hamilton, and are one of five crews within the "Royal Family", along with Misfits, Sorority, Duchesses and Bubblegum. Parris is the lead choreographer of the groups.

Impact  2007 – she led ReQuest to second place at the Street Dance New Zealand Nationals, which was the qualifying competition for the Hip Hop International World Championships.  2008 – she became a cast member in Monsters of Hip Hop. She is also a member of the Faculty that teaches all through the U.S  2009 – ReQuest won first place in the Varsity Crews division in Las Vegas and placed first at the World Supremacy Battleground in the Varsity division in Australia  2010 – ReQuest competed at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships in the Adult Crews division and won  2011 – ReQuest was the second crew outside America to compete on MTV’s Americas Best Dance Crew in Season 6, and the first crew outside North America. The crew were eliminated in Week 4 of the competition

Impact continued  2011 – ReQuest placed second at World Hip Hop Dance Championships. Her Royal Family won four medals in total for New Zealand with Bubblegum winning gold in the Junior Crews division, Sorority winning gold in the Varsity Crews division, and Royal Family winning gold in the Mega Crews division.  2012 – Hired by Jennifer Lopez to choreograph her ‘Dance Again World Tour’, and also performed with Lopez on the season 11 finale of American Idol. Parris featured in Lopez’s music video for the single, ‘Goin In’, and also performed on season 15 of U.S Dancing with the Stars  2014 – Won Best Female Choreographer at the World of Dance Industry awards in L.A

More achievements  six members of ReQuest were contracted for Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: One, based in Las Vegas. Parris was also contracted to serve as one of the choreographers for the show.  She was featured during season 15 of Dancing with the Stars, performing on stage with several dancers from ReQuest and Royal Family  Step Up: All In, features Parris in the role of Violet, an exchange student from New Zealand.  She also choreographed parts of the movie.

Personal opinion  I love Parris Goebel and admire her so much because she has so much creativity and many innovative ideas which she strongly conveys to the audience. I love that her dance style and choreography ranges from very feminine to more masculine movement. Another reason I admire Parris so much is because she is lead choreographer of 6 different crews ranging from adults to mega crew to juniors. Every time I see the crews perform or when I watch their YouTube videos, they are unique from each other and each crew has different types of movement which I can’t believe because sometimes I wonder how Parris has that much creativity to come up with 5 minute routines for each crew!

Continued  Although there are boys within The Royal Family, I love that Parris really makes the girls stand out and portrays them in a very powerful way. Finally, Parris is a huge inspiration to me because not only does she choreograph routines for all her crews in order for them to compete, but she also makes a lot of concept videos and short dance films, as well as prepare her own show in which all of her crews perform in, she designs the crews’ costumes, makes her own mixes, and has a Royal Family clothing line.
