Building Community -The first six weeks of school are intentional guided transition time. -Mindfully easing students into the routines and procedures of the Middle School -Introducing engaging curriculum -Fostering autonomy -Integrating social and academic learning

Things to Know -Parent Technology Night is Thursday, September 24th. Dr. Dana Smith will be instructing parents on Haiku. -We will have an EarthShine parent chaperone meeting right before Parent Technology Night on September 24th.

Things to Know Continued -Student Council elections are on September 21st. The Student Council retreat will be on September 29th. -As with last year, there will be several late start days throughout the year. The first late start day is Monday, September 21st.

What to do for absences... As per MS policy, please let BOTH your child’s advisor and Mrs. Kirkman-Hall in the MS office know about any absences or early departures.

EarthShine Overview -Please drop students off at 5:45am in the MS circle on Monday, October 19th. -We will return to GDS immediately after carpool on Wednesday, October 21st. -What to do if your child takes meds... -We will send confidential student forms home in tomorrow’s Friday folders.

Packing List Sleeping bag and pillow Towel, washcloth, toiletries (toothbrush/paste, brush, soap) Underclothes Socks — several pairs Pajamas Pants (at least 2 pairs) Hiking boots/shoes (2 pairs) ●Water bottle ●T-shirts ●Sweatshirts, fleeces ●Rain gear — head to toe ●Hat (be sure to cover ears) ●Gloves (1-3 pairs) ●Windbreaker/warm jacket ●Plastic bag for wet things ●NO electronics Make sure to label EVERYTHING!
