Baha’i  Baha'i dead must be buried within an hour's travel distance from the place of death  No cremation  Recite a prayer for the dead to help with their spiritual journey

Buddhism  Reincarnation  Requirement: englightenment  Buddhists cremate the bodies of their dead. The first seven days after death are the most important for final and funereal prayer.  49 day prayer period to help with transformation

Catholicism  Purgatory  Heaven and Hell  Ressurection  Funeral practice: Mass of Ressurection  Cremation is allowed, not scattering the remainings though

Eastern Orthodox  Death as a consequence of human sin throughout a persons life  Everlasting life  Prayers asking God to have mercy on the soul  special vigil over the dead called the parastasis or panikhida, as a time of contemplation on death. The funeral service includes hymns, chants, and bible readings. Burial is preferred but the Orthodox Church allows cremation if the law of the country requires it.
