Building an Effective Learning Environment A learning environment includes all conditions, circumstances, and influences that affect the learner’s development: –Physical space and surroundings Lighting Seating Dividing room into sections for different acitivities –Non-physical components of space How instruction is accomplished (auditory-verbal, TC, manual, cued speech) Technologies used (FM, hearing aids, CI’s) Planned interaction among students, with teachers, etc. Assessment techniques Role type as teacher (sage, guide, coach, facilitator, etc.)

Instructional Planning System 1.Design: designing the instruction Identifies overall goals and steps to achieve these goals. 2.Plan: articulating specific lesson plans 3.Act: Developing an instructional plan the action plan specifies everything you need to do make learning happen in the class
