Andy Warhol In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.

I love Los Angeles. I love Hollywood. They’re beautiful. Everybody’s plastic, but I love plastic. I want to be plastic Andy Warhol came from a very religious family. The house that he grew up in contained lots of imagery like this….

Andy was sick for most of his childhood, and was in and out of hospital, and spent a lot of his time at home in bed. During this time he drew constantly, and started collecting images of celebrities, from magazines that his brother would bring him

If you were going to create a print like this, in the same way as you did the skull prints… How would you do it? What shapes would you cut out? What order would you print in?

Andy Warhol is one of the worlds most famous artists. Why do you think his work became so popular? What is it about his work that makes people excited today?

Do you think his artwork has any deeper meaning about fame or celebrity? What do you think about the image above? Does Warhol have any messages in his artwork?

Why is the image repeated?

These images of Mick Jagger are different. How has he made them? Could you try building up a collaged image in this way, and then printing over it?

Homework 1 project book page, in which you explore your attitude, opinion, ideas and beliefs about…. Fame and celebrity What do you believe and why? Use Warhol imagery, quotations, and biographical details to help you with the look and content of your work.
