Isaiah prophecies of Jesus Christ

What do these things have in common?

Read Isaiah 6:1–7 of Isaiah’s calling Ponder times when you have felt you were in a very holy place or in the presence of someone very holy. Read Isaiah 6:1–7 of Isaiah’s calling How did Isaiah feel in the Lord’s presence? Why? What symbols are a bit confusing for you?  What feelings might you have if a messenger from the Lord pronounced you clean from your sins? How might the knowledge that he was clean from sin affect Isaiah’s willingness to serve the Lord?

Do you know what your name means? Names in the scriptures can often teach us important truths. What did Isaiah name his children? Look at Isaiah 7:3 and Isaiah 8:1  What do they mean? Isaiah 7:3, footnote a Isaiah 8:1, footnote d Isaiah 8:18, footnote a MAHER-SHALAL-HASH-BAZ SHEAR-JASHUB ISAIAH Destruction is imminent The remnant shall return The Lord is salvation ISAIAH THEMES: (1) Destruction if they persisted in wickedness (2) The gathering of God’s people (3) The power of Jesus Christ to save His people.

Youth Video: “It’s never too late” (Elder Holland, 3:30)

“Surely the thing God enjoys most about being God is the thrill of being merciful, especially to those who don’t expect it and often feel they don’t deserve it” (“The Laborers in the Vineyard,”  Ensign or Liahona, May 2012, 33). “When we sin, we turn away from God. When we repent, we turn back toward God. The invitation to repent is rarely a voice of chastisement but rather a loving appeal to turn around and to ‘re- turn’ toward God” (“Repent … That I May Heal You,” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2009, 40).
