In 1820 the British settlers then made their way to Port Elizabeth and Algoa bay, because of the agriculture that was offered. These settlements of the British people impacted the life style of African people by building different types of house compared to the huts that the African people lived in this influenced a lot of people in terms of their housings and the way of living. The Dutch and British people went war (Anglo war ) and the British people took the Cape and the Dutch were forced to take the land beyond the Vaal river.
