1 What I Have Learned Introduction to AV Equipment and Services Amanda Withrow December 2006

Amanda Withrow2 Introduction The purpose of this presentation is to communicate what I have learned in the LTA 1333 class, using PowerPoint.

Amanda Withrow3 Topics of Discussion I will be describing four things that I have learned in this class, they include: still photography, projection, visual display, and HTML.

Amanda Withrow4 Still Photography-Film In this class I learned how to select the best film for each application I choose to photograph. The information which follows will help any amateur photographer wishing to take a better photograph.

Amanda Withrow5 A few questions to answer when selecting film: How much light is available for your picture How fast is the lens that you’re using (what aperture do you expect to use) How fast is your subject going to be moving How fast is your camera going to be moving

Amanda Withrow6 Projection I also learned different types of items to use for projection. In schools and libraries you may need to project items onto a larger screen so more people are able to view the application.

Amanda Withrow7 Here is a list of common items used for projection: Caramate Projector Overhead Projector Opaque Projector 16mm Projector Slide Projector LCD Panel

Amanda Withrow8 Visual Display When creating any kind of document it is important to take into consideration the overall look of the document. The color of the paper/background and lettering, the font used, … Using these ideas will help the reader be able to view the document easier.

Amanda Withrow9 Things to consider: Color Texture Space Typeface and font Legibility and readability

Amanda Withrow10 HTML Learning HTML was the major highlight of this class. HTML is a kind of formatting used to create web pages.

Amanda Withrow11 HTML commonly used tags: bold Bold italic Italic underline Underline Page break Center

Amanda Withrow12 All of these examples can be used in any LTA situation whether you are working in a school library, an academic library, or a public library. Each item is something that an LTA should know and be able to use when needed.

This class has been very beneficial in helping me to fully understand the AV Equipment and Services that an LTA may be using or be in charge of. I hope that this presentation has given you an insight into an LTA position. Back to Web Page Presentation Back to E-portfolio
