Roxboro Road Middle School Open House 2012

When the students arrive at RRMS they are met at the bus by the teaching assistants and teacher and brought into the building.

Next they go to their lockers and unload their book bags and hang up their coats.

The students then enter the classroom and find their seats then they have breakfast or snack

Next the students listen to announcements from WROX our radio station.

Next the students will break up into groups for reading and some will work on folder work and some will have therapy. PT Speech OT APE Folder work Reading group

Students are also mainstreamed into Music, Art, Home & Careers, Health, and Tech Ed. When they reach 7 th and 8 th grade.

5 th period the students have lunch it runs for approximately 1 hour which is all of 5 th and part of 6 th period from 11:00-12:00. Some students eat in the classroom while other students eat in the cafeteria.

Students go to the bathroom or are changed 2-3 times per day or as needed per student needs. Those students who need to see the Nurse are taken to the nurse when necessary for medications or injury in some cases a schedule will be set up for things such as venting, cathing etc.

Students have Science and Social Studies class as a whole group usually after lunch they will be doing projects and have homework this year.

Students will also have a life skills, sensory and cooking class. Life skills will be 1-2 times per week. Cooking will be 1x per month, and sensory will be 1-2 x per week.

Students will use computers throughout the school Day.

Students will have time at the end of the day to prepare for dismissal and will be taken to the bus
