4 What are 30-Second Trainings? 30-Second Trainings are sent as an interactive PowerPoint Show to targeted audiences via . One of many options on a menu of training strategies and techniques for Navigators to have in their toolbox. Designed to be fast, informative and entertaining to capture the attention of busy One-Stop staff, partners and/or employers. Cover a wide-range of disability and employment related issues.

Ways to Use 30-Second Trainings… To introduce topics and information for the first time. To send targeted information relevant to specific staff, partners, employers, etc…via /listserv. As a stand-alone training. To augment other more formal training. To lead the end-user to a reputable internet resource where they can access more comprehensive information on the 30-Second Training topic. 5

8 Tips… Leave the statement “30-Second DPN Trainings are a National Disability Program Navigator collaborative effort. Please contact your local DPN to add a friend or colleague to this list.” at the bottom of the 30-Second Training PowerPoint. When saving/sending: Be sure to distinguish the difference between PowerPoint presentation (PPT) and PowerPoint show (PPS) in the you send out. – You want to send the PPS! Put your own address in the “To” category in the you send out with the 30-Second Training and put the addresses/listserv in the “BCC” category (Blind carbon copy).
