PUBLIC HEARING ON AEIS RESULTS 2007 CRANFILLS GAP ISD JAMES SCOTT SUPERINTENDENT

BACKGROUND INFORMATION  Accountability tables 

Acceptable

CGISD 07 vs State Averages Total students tested/no breakdown of categories included in graph.

CGISD 07 VS STANDARD

What kept CGISD from being recognized?  1 subject area  1 demographic within that area  1 student within that demographic  1 question  4 students had the opportunity to raise us to the recognized level by answering only 1 or 2 more questions correctly.

What about exemplary status?  Last year CGISD scored over 90% in two of the 5 areas needed, Reading/ELA and Writing  Social Studies scored an 86%, 21 kids tested, 19 needed to pass for exemplary, we had 18, 3 students were within one question

Continued  Math  46 students tested 36 passed, we needed 41, a difference of 5 kids  6 kids needed just one more correct to pass

Continued  Science  23 test, 16 passed, 21 needed for exemplary, 5 kids short, 1 kid was 1 away, 2 kids were 2 away 2 kids were 3 away.

What does this all mean?  In 2007 CGISD students and staff were:  Exemplary in Reading/ELA  Exemplary in Writing  Social Studies-missed exemplary by one question  Mathematics- missed exemplary by 5 questions  Science- Missed exemplary by 11 questions

Continued  In April of 2007 CGISD students were asked a total of 1,197 different questions on tests in 5 subject areas. All together approximately 8,000 questions. Out of all of these questions we were 1 question short of being a recognized district and 17 questions short of being an exemplary district.
