1. If you chose to take this class, you’re probably interested in how the body works, am I right? Well, if this is the case, you’re going to actually enjoy yourself this semester! (Hooray! :D) 2. Though you will be having a lot of fun learning, you’re going to have to put some effort into this class. It might be a bit of a change from your regular high school courses. 3. BUT no worries! Take a deep breath, look over the class’s pages and units, and dive into your first assignment. Just make sure to turn in your work on time always, always, always.

Congrats! You managed to get a seat in online Anatomy & Physiology Honors! Now what?? Well, you could start off by going to the Discussion Board and introducing yourself to the class in All About Me. The DB is where students can talk about everything, from what you did this weekend in the What's (H) A&P'nin? forum to unit discussions on bladder cloning.

With the announcements page, you can never go wrong! Follow the teacher’s instructions in each announcement posted, and you’re all good : )

This handy section of your class is where you can find your gradebook, personal info, and wimba pronto, which enables you to talk to your teacher, especially when it’s time to check in and let him/her know how you’re doing.

The discussion board, announcements page, and tools page are locations you’ll frequent during this semester, along with several other places. Besides the units you are assigned each week, you might also want to check out the course information and teacher pages. They provide really helpful information about the course ahead and who you’ll be reporting to. Just go explore the site and find out where everything is!

Basically, you’re going to be learning about every system, every organ, and every cell that makes up the human body. -Acids and bases and where they are located. -Hormones, hormones, hormones. You’ll learn where each comes from, where they target, and what they do. -How blood pumps throughout the body. -Respiration, metabolism, and other major components of living. -Testing and diagnosing subjects -Everything you need to know about the 5 senses

-Each week you will have unit(s) to do, and each unit comes in a folder which contains: Lecture and Study Guide in order to understand what you’re learning that week. Checklist so you may keep up with what you need to do. Latin terms & quiz Blog and discussion board to talk about the unit and share vocabulary definitions. An activity, which varies week to week. Marzano, oftentimes being a case study. Writing assignment Lab Simulation, which can be anything from an interactive activity to a do-it- yourself home lab. Unit Test to assess what you’ve learned.

I LLNESS : M Y A SSIGNMENT IS LATE !!! Symptoms- nausea, panic, stress, difficulty breathing, feeling that the world is going to end. Causes- Individual has not turned in their assignment at the designated due date. Treatment- Chill out, take a deep breath and get the work done. Even if it is late, an extension might be granted or you might get more points for doing the assignment anyways.

“Even though, this class is stressful, I do not regret taking it, because I know for a fact that I have—indeed—gained much knowledge that will surely take me far in life.” “I enjoyed the class and I would recommend it to anyone!” “Overall, this was the most interesting class that I've ever taken. :)” “The one thing I definitely retained throughout the course was my love for medicine and my want to be a surgeon.” “If you want to get through this course, you have to be on here daily. You can't slack off.” “One of my greatest stretch moments would have to be at the beginning of the course when I just wanted to quit the course altogether. But I picked up where I had left off and worked really hard, as if the idea of quitting never crossed my mind.”

Well I hope this has given you some helpful info about the semester ahead! As a former student, I’d just like to put in my two cents: you’re going to enjoy yourself, you’re going to learn something new every day, and it’s going to be a challenge. I believe this class is great once you get the hang of it and it’s safe to say this is one of my favorite classes I’ve ever taken. I wish the best of luck to everyone and have a good time! P.S.- If it motivates you to do a better job, you can ask your teacher for a college recommendation if you do well during the semester, so try your hardest!!
