Revelation 7:15-17 God Tabernacles With His People 0 God Tabernacles With His People by Eric Douma October 25, 2015 Gospel of Grace Fellowship

Revelation 7:15-17 God Tabernacles With His People 1 Matthew 24:21-22 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. 22 Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Rev. 7:14 ESV “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation.”

Revelation 7:15-17 God Tabernacles With His People 2 Revelation 7:15-17 For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. 16 They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.

Revelation 7:15-17 God Tabernacles With His People 3 Feast of Booths = commemorated God’s “dwelling” with His people during their journey in the wilderness and proclaimed the future Messianic age. 1. Palm branches: Look back: God dwelt with His people in the wilderness Look forward: God will dwell with His people in the Messianic age 2. Water: Look back: God gave drink to His people in the wilderness Look forward: God’s Spirit would be “poured out”

Revelation 7:15-17 God Tabernacles With His People 4 Rev. 7:9 Palm branches in their hand Rev. 7:15 God spreads His tabernacle over them Rev. 7:17 Jesus leads them to “living waters” Psalm 27:4-5 One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.

Revelation 7:15-17 God Tabernacles With His People 5 Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His godly ones. 2 Corinthians 5:5-8 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight— 8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Revelation 7:15-17 God Tabernacles With His People 6 Revelation 20:4Revelation 3:10 Luke 17:26 “the days of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:37 “the parousia of the Son of Man” 70 th Week (The Parousia)
