Magnetism Friday, April 17, 2015

Unit 10: Magnetism Monday, 4/20  Respond to the following:  Compare motors, generators and transformers to each other. Explain how they are similar and how they are different. Upcoming dates:  Monday, 4/20 – open note magnetism quiz (note: I will not accept any late work related to magnetism after the quiz has been taken)  Tuesday, 4/28 – open note atomic physics quiz (note: I will not accept any late work related to atomic physics after the quiz has been taken)  Wednesday, 5/13 – Rube Goldberg presentations (project is a test grade)  Friday, 5/22 – Last day to turn in 6SW extra credit  Tuesday, 5/26 – Bottle rocket launch (project is a test grade) )  Thursday, 6/4 – 5th period final exam (8:35 to 10:30), 8 th period final exam (10:45 to 12:45)

Unit 10: Magnetism Friday, 4/17  Respond to the following:  Compare motors, generators and transformers to each other. Explain how they are similar and how they are different. Similar – they all transform energy Differences – types of energy being transformed Motor – electrical to mechanical Generator – mechanical to electrical Transformer – electrical to electrical (amount of energy is changed)

Open note quiz  When you are finished  Pick up your scantron from the back lab table.  Turn your quiz over and wait for everyone to finish

TEK check  Do not write on the TEK check  When you are finished:  Turn your answer document and TEK check document into the front table  Find something quiet to do until everyone is finished.
