Is School the Same in Japan? What do you see that is the same as your classroom? What is different?

Does this look like your classroom? What is the same? What is different?

What is the first thing you do when you get to school?

Slippers in School? Do you take your shoes off when you get into your house? Why don’t you do it at school? In Japan, the students change into slippers when they come to school. These “clean” shoes have never been worn outside.

Dirty shoes…not inside school!

Who serves you lunch?

Who Serves Lunch in Japan? If you were in a Japanese school, the cafeteria staff would make the lunch. Your classmates would serve you lunch! Does the teacher help? NOPE…it is the students’ job!

What do they learn? You would still have to know your math facts.

What do they learn? You would still get PE

Read…Read…Read… You would still get to read, read, read! Only you would be reading in Japanese!
