 Content Area: Science  Grade Level: 4th  Summary: The purpose of this instructional PowerPoint is to teach the difference between weather and climate.  Learning Objective: Given information and examples of weather patterns versus climate the student will answer questions with 100% accuracy.  State or Common Core and ISTE Standard:  Differentiate between weather and climate.

Weather Definition: The temperature, amount of precipitation and other outside conditions at a particular time and place. When you think of weather think: Day to day changes Short-term Small area

Climate Definition: the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period. When you think of climate think: Long term Large area

Examples Weather sunshine, rain, cloud cover, winds, hail, snow, sleet, freezing rain, flooding, blizzards, ice storms, thunderstorms, extreme heat/cold Climate averages of precipitation, temperature, humidity, sunshine, wind
