Financial aspects of care Developments in health care in the Netherlands are the same as in the USA, S.E. Asia etc. From central, governmental, national health care to decentralism, to health care based on the principles of the free market…….

Developments… Socialism and capitalism disappeared and the market mechanism came as a “new” global concept for societies. This market mechanism is a new credo for workers in wellfare, education, health care etc. Old wine in new bottles??

The new situation… 1.More influenced by insurance companies than by governments 2.People see health care as a ‘product” and not longer as human care to each other 3.Professionals see patients as clients 4.Health care is “for sale” 5.Less attention to prevention, ethical issues, law developments etc.

To the world market? From national health care in the 70s and 80s to other scales of market organization. “City-care”, “Regional care”, “International care”, “World care”.

The world market. The world market already exists (also in health care). Are we not a bit too late to anticipate? Internet health care already exists, medical and nursing care is free available etc.
