LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER HOURS MON. – FRI. 7:30 – 3:15 LIBRARIAN MRS. SMITH LIBRARY ACTIVITIES: BOOK CHECKOUT-READING CLASSES-RESEARCH-CELEBRATIONS SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS -MEETINGS

 USE A QUIET VOICE.  BE RESPECTFUL.  GO DIRECTLY TO A TABLE AND SIT DOWN WHEN YOUR CLASS COMES IN.  IF YOU COME TO THE LIBRARY WITH A PASS, SIGN IN AT THE CHECKOUT COUNTER.  TAKE CARE OF YOUR BOOKS.  RETURN YOUR BOOKS ON TIME.  KEEP THE LIBRARY IN ORDER.  USE COMPUTERS APPROPRIATELY.  BRING GUM, FOOD, DRINKS, OR BACKPACKS INTO THE LIBRARY.  USE COMPUTERS WITHOUT PERMISSION.  PLAY GAMES ON THE COMPUTERS.  WEAR HEADPHONES.  SIT ON COUNTERS OR TABLES.  WANDER AIMLESSLY IN THE LIBRARY.  IGNORE YOUR OVERDUE NOTICES. DO DON’T

HOW MANY BOOKS MAY WE CHECK OUT? 1, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY OVERDUE BOOKS OR FINES. WHEN IS MY LIBRARY BOOK DUE? 2 WEEKS FROM THE DATE YOU CHECK IT OUT. MAY WE RENEW OUR BOOKS? YES, FOR AN ADDITIONAL TWO WEEKS. DO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR LOST OR DAMAGED BOOKS? YES! WHEN DO YOU SEND OUT OVERDUE NOTICES? AT LEAST ONCE EVERY GRADING PERIOD. HOW CAN WE FIND OUT WHAT BOOKS WE HAVE OUT AND WHEN THEY ARE DUE? LOG IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT ON ATRIUUM, THE LIBRARY CATALOG.

You are responsible for your library book! Do not loan a book to someone else. If someone else damages or loses a book that you have checked out, you still have to pay for it! Return or renew your book on time. You will not be able to check out another book if you have a lost or damaged book or fines. Fines for Lost or Damaged Books Hardcover Books - $20.00 Paperback Books - $10.00

TAKE YOUR BOOK TO THE CHECKOUT COUNTER AND PUT IT ON THE COUNTER, FACE DOWN, SO THE BARCODE CAN BE SCANNED. TELL THE CHECKOUT PERSON YOUR LAST NAME. IF UNMANNED, LOCATE NAMECARD UNDER YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER IN BOX ON DESK, SCAN THE BARCODE FIRST THEN SCAN BOOK BARCODE. IF THERE IS A LINE, PLEASE STAY NEAR THE COUNTER AND STAND QUIETLY. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A STAMP OR ANYTHING THAT TELLS YOU WHEN YOUR BOOK IS DUE. IF MRS. SMITH CHECKS OUT YOUR BOOK TO YOU, SHE WILL WRITE THE DUE DATE ON THE INSIDE BACK COVER. IF SHE IS NOT HERE, IT IS ALWAYS DUE TWO WEEKS FROM THE DATE YOU CHECK IT OUT. YOU MAY ALSO CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR BOOKS ONLINE BY LOGGING IN TO ATRIUUM!

WHEN YOU RETURN A BOOK, YOU MUST PUT IT ON THE TABLE NEAR THE FRONT DOOR. IF YOU DO NOT PUT YOUR BOOK ON THE CART, IT MAY NOT BE CHECKED IN AND YOU MAY RECEIVE AN OVERDUE NOTICE OR FINE FOR A LOST BOOK!

WHEN YOUR CLASS IS SCHEDULED TO COME FOR CHECKOUT, A LESSON, OR FOR RESEARCH. WHEN YOUR TEACHER GIVES YOU A LIBRARY PASS TO COME ON YOUR OWN OR WITH A SMALL GROUP. BEFORE SCHOOL, BETWEEN 7:45 AND 8:00, WITH PERMISSION FROM A TEACHER. YOU MUST HAVE A PASS. YOU WILL NEED TO LEAVE BY 7:50 TO HAVE BREAKFAST IN THE CLASSROOM.
