 An animal giving Human-like Qualities or an object giving life –like qualities. The sun smiling down or the boat hugged the shore.

 Consonant sounds repeated at the beginning of a word.  Ron rock his rock and roll band.

 repeating VOWEL sounds in a line or lines of poetry.

 Exaggeration often used for emphasis  A man like million times harder.

 Words that imitate the sounds they are naming.  Like Pop,bang,Buzz,Ding,crash

 A direct comparison of two unlike things.

 Most images are visual, but they can also appeal to the senses of sound,touch,taste, or smell

 An expression where the literal meaning of the words is not the meaning of the expression. It means something other what it actually says.(It’s raining cats and dog)
