How to use textual evidence in a short answer question It’s as easy as Restate the question with an opinion or argument that you will prove with the text 2.Provide textual evidence to prove your claim or argument. 3.Provide your analysis of the quote (this is where you give me your opinion!)

How to use textual evidence in short answer questions. 1.Restate the question. What are the reasons the critics don’t want to involve the hospital in such a “heroic venture”? The reasons the critics do not want to involve the hospital in such a “heroic venture” is because they felt Denise was not a good candidate for the surgery.

How to use textual evidence in short answer questions. 2. Provide textual evidence to prove your claim or argument. The critic felt that “Denise was too old… the seizures were coming from an area that made surgery too risky,.. and she was in terrible medical condition.” (pg. 164)

How to use textual evidence in short answer questions. 3.Provide your analysis of the quote (this is where you give me your opinion!) This means to me that the critics knew the surgery was very dangerous and felt that it was not in the best interest of the patient to put her through a surgery she most likely would not survive.

Now you put it all together. Ben Carson says he will never forget the story of Danielle, a baby born with a brain tumor. What makes this case memorable for the author? 1.Restate the question with your argument. 2. Provide textual evidence to support your argument. 3. Provide an analysis of the quote (your opinion)
