 Ovarian cancer is cancer of the ovaries. Women has two ovaries next to the uterus.

 There are three kinds of ovarian cancer:  * Begins outside the ovaries  * Begins in the egg-making cells  * Begins in hormone-making cells

 It is not exactly known what causes ovarian cancer; however, it is believed that normal cells acquire an abnormal cell mutation.

 Some of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer are abdominal swelling, pelvic pain, change in bowel and bladder movements, and low back pain.

 In order to diagnose ovarian cancer the doctor will do a pelvic exam. An ultrasound and blood test may also be done. Finally, surgery to get a testing sample may be performed.

 Surgery is the most common treatment for ovarian cancer. After that chemotherapy is needed in most cases to kill left over cancer cells.
