GRAPHING- 3 Types of Graphs -BAR GRAPHS-LINE GRAPHS - PIE CHARTS

LINE GRAPHS - A type of graph that highlights trends by drawing connecting lines BETWEEN data points. -a type of graph where different values are represented by rectangular bars. BAR GRAPH

What every LINE and BAR graph needs!! What every Bar and Line graph should have!!!! -Axes (x,y) -equal intervals -origin -units -title -data points -key (if needed for multiple variables)

PIE CHART -A type of graph where percentage values are represented as proportionally-sized slices of a pie. What does every Pie Chart Need –Title –Explanation of sections (pie pieces) Key if necessary –Different colors or patterns –Circle divided in percentages

Fact vs. Inference fact - is something that has really occurred or is actually the case. Ex. Hudson’s Bay won an academic excellence award in 2011 Inference - is the act or process of making logical conclusions from prior information assumed to be true Ex. Maybe we have great teachers at Hudson’s bay

Inference vs Fact Activity On pg. 14 record at least two facts and two inferences from each of the six graphs
