Egyptian Universities Network Egyptian Universities Network (EUN) was founded as a not for profit organization and a unit of the Supreme Council of Universities on EUN serves 19 Egyptian government universities and 20 different educational organizations. EUN is funded primarily by the Universities’ subscriptions and also by various services.

EUN Mission & Objectives Mission: Advancing and supporting the Egyptian's academic and education network.Advancing and supporting the Egyptian's academic and education network.Objective: To take responsibility for the networking program of the education learning and research communities in Egypt; develop and provide advanced electronic communication facilities for use within these communities.To take responsibility for the networking program of the education learning and research communities in Egypt; develop and provide advanced electronic communication facilities for use within these communities.

EUN Key Tasks Delivering high quality networking, related services and support in line with service level agreements. 1.Development of EUN Network. 2.Enhancing the connectivity infrastructure. 3.Design, pilot, develop and bring into service new “Value added” Services.

EUN Key Tasks 4.Improving services by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. 5.Providing and piloting-new projects that support IT community in Egyptian Universities and Academic community in Egypt

Development of EUN Network The architecture of EUN has been developed and upgraded in 2 directions:The architecture of EUN has been developed and upgraded in 2 directions:  National backbone.  International connectivity. National backbone: The EUN backbone currently comprises 19 main nodes with 2(E3) fiber links which can be upgraded up to 1 Gb/s (the network is based on IP).
