Vocabulary MAP Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level—precisely measuring student progress and growth for each individual. RIT The scale for R asch Un IT —a stable measurement, like inches on a ruler, that covers all grades. And because the measurement is reliable and accurate, RIT scores serve as an essential data point in a student’s learning plan; educators can see their precise learning level and respond accordingly.

OUTCOME of MAP Powerful student growth data Inform instruction using valid, reliable, and real time data Measure the growth of every student over time regardless of on, above, or below grade level performance Engage students in goal setting Create and reinforce evidence-informed instructional practices Evaluate programs and identify professional development needs Compare and predict student achievement and growth over time via exclusive normative and growth information

Details about testing Testing in grades K-8 Three times a year Fall, Winter, Spring Testing is done on computers Quick Turn Around—24 hours Very similar format and testing protocols as PARCC

Facts about MAP Is not an accountability test Generates test questions based on student responses; adjust to a student’s skill level so that each student takes an individualized test Aligned to state curriculum standards and National Common Core standards Used to target individual instruction MAP does not measure intelligence or a student’s capacity to learn (not an IQ test!)
