Engineering with a “Marshmallow Twist”

Can you name the following buildings?

What does an engineer consider? An engineer uses: SCIENCE, MATH, KNOWLEDGE, and CREATIVITY! An engineer will Plan, Design, and Oversee the building’s construction. Knowledge of materials Seismic Design of Structures

Your Mission: A competition to see who can build the tallest structure out of a limited number of toothpicks and marshmallows.

Team Name You have one minute to choose a team name. Choose Wisely! When you have agreed upon a team name please stand.

Team Supplies Your team will need the following materials: *1 - Piece of construction paper (any color) *1 - Ruler *1- Pencil *1- baggie of toothpicks *2 - scoops marshmallows

It’s Time……… You will now have 15 minutes to create your free-standing structure with the toothpicks and marshmallows. Tallest structure wins!
