Tina Hyon had Lydia on the 24 th of April 1997 in Seoul Korea.

Childhood Lydia Ko in North Harbour representative gear. At the age of five Lydia went to Australia to see her Aunt. This was who gave Lydia her first golf clubs, a 7 iron and a putter.

When Lydia's mother was told her daughter had a natural gift she understandably wanted to nurture it. She asked a professional to teach Lydia how to hit the ball, but he said he couldn't. He said Lydia was so young she may not understand what he was trying to teach her. Tina had to offer him some extra money to accept.

Coming to NZ Lydia's family decided to move to Canada when she was six, but then moved to Australia, but didn’t like it in Australia so moved to New Zealand.

Accomplishments * Her first win in a tournament was in 2009 when she was 11 she won the under 19s women North Island champs. The next year she won the under 23s North Island woman's champs. * Lydia reached No. 1 in the world amateur rankings in 2011.

At the Canadian Women’s Open in 2013, Lydia won with a tournament record score. In doing so, she became the first amateur to win two LPGA events. Later in 2013, Lydia announced she was turning Pro.

More accomplishments She made her debut as a Pro golfer at the 2013 LPGA CME titleholders, finishing twenty first.

In her second event as a Pro she won the Swinging Skirts world ladies masters. She won!!! Her first victory as a Pro at the swinging skirts was three days after her 17 th birthday.

Other things to consider. * She is only 18. * She is NO.1 lady in the world. * She was the youngest golfer tying with Tiger Wood’s to win a PGA event. * Height 1.52 m * She went to Pinehurst Primary School and Korea University. * She is an only child.
