What problems they think they will meet in the process of job seeking? Teacher: Briefly introduce the current job seeking situation Ask students to think over this question: What are the reasons for the difficulty for job hunting?

2 Tips (5 minutes) TO be a successful interviewee requires self- confidence, good communication skills and preparation. Honest self-assessment, practice in answering typical interview questions and mastery of the techniques of impression management are necessary. Practical guide lines interviewer and interviewee can benefit from could be the following:

Second Period of Class Situation One: You are having an interview in an international computer company. You talk about your personality, education and experience. It seems that the interviewer is interested in your past working experience because you also worked in a computer company before. He asked questions about your experience.

Second Period of Class Situation Two: Wang went to an interview for a job with an American company. Mr. Smith, the interviewer, asked several questions about her educational background, work experience, and why she wanted this job. The interviewer especially emphasizes the importance of her English proficiency

Second Period of Class III Group Discussion (25 minutes) Consider the following 12 questions and try to give the possible answers if you are in an interview., 1. What do you think is important in one’s work? 2. There are many other companies. Why do you want to work for us? 3. What’s you strength? 4. What’s your anticipation from working on this job?

5. Why do you wish to leave your company and work for us? 6. Do you like to be a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond? 7. Why did you select your college or university? 8. What led you to choose your field or major study?

Second Period of Class 9. What are your long-term goals? What would you like to be doing in 5 years? 10. What kind of contribution do you think you could make to the company? 11. Do you like working with others or alone? What kind of people do you like to work with? 12. What kind of decision are most difficult for you?

Second Period of Class IV Homework (2 minutes) 1 How to Make a Successful Interview? 2 Resume

Third Period of Class 1 Presentation----How to Make a Successful Interview? (5 minutes) 2 Resume (5 minutes) 3 Role Play (40 minutes)

Step1: Teacher tells the class that they are going to act out an interview situation in small groups. Each group will have 3 applicants for one job and 2 interviewers. Step2: Give each person a role card. Step3: Each applicant makes an application form like the model and hands it to the two interviewers. The interviewers think of the questions to ask the applicants. Step4: The applicants are called for interview one at a time. Step5: The interviewers discuss and make discussion, and offer the job to the successful applicant.
