Tuesday Lab Projects ELCT 201 Spring 2011 Solar Tracking and Power Management Slider Control Automation Wireless Project Solar Pulsed Pendulum
Solar Tracking and Power Management Expectations –track sun from east to west (charge battery) –return to east before or at sunrise –power a load –measure and trend voltages and currents –determine power and Watt-hours –Use LabView/DAQ and Arduino
Slider Control Automation Expectations –install slide pot on push rod for feedback –monitor both encoders and slide pot feedback –use pwm to control the DC motor speed –use Arduino as a position controller w/ SP –use LabView to monitor and trend the inputs and outputs
Wireless Project Expectations –use 2 sets of Xbee and Arduino –transmit and receive 2 on/off signals –transmit and receive 2 analog signals –incorporate LabView for monitor of transmitted and received signals for testing and demonstrations –use received signals to control a remote device
Solar Pulsed Pendulum Expectations –reverse engineer the device provided –develop schematic –develop a functional explanation –build a model with a pendulum between 12 and 18 inches tall with a position sensor –use Arduino as the controller –use LabView to monitor and trend signal activities such as position sensor and coil signal
