Scripture Reading 2 Cor. 2:11
Introduction We continue to look at some of the Satan’s devices. Our aim is to be able to know what tactics our enemy uses so that he cannot get an advantage of us. The more we know about our enemy the less opportunity we give him to get an advantage of us.
Satan’s device-Deception Satan desires to deceive. One of his tools is deception. He wants us to think that good is bad and bad is good (Is. 5:20-23). He is known as the deceiver (Re. 12:9). It seems that today he is having much success in the world.
“Be not deceived” Galatians 6:7 Many today have been deceived into thinking that they can sow their wild oats and not reap. Hosea 8:7 It is God’s law of retribution; we reap what we sow. Satan doesn’t want us to believe that.
We see so many who are deceived Romans 1:21-32 The description that Paul gives of the time that he wrote Romans resembles so very much the times in which we live. Our culture has exchanged the truth of God for the lies and deception of Satan.
How can we avoid deception? To pray for strength and wisdom. To know and understand God’s law of sowing and reaping. To know that Satan is a liar and the father of it (Jn. 8:44). To put to test against the word of God what is being presented as truth, but is actually a lie.
Conclusion God will allow us to be deceived if we believe the lies of Satan (2 Thess. 2:7- 12). Let us know the tactics, the methods, the trickery, the devices of Satan. 1 Peter 5:8
