6v6 Volleyball

Understand and follow all Recreational Sports policies, rules, and guidelines Responsible for team conduct Team may pay the price for an individual’s actions Relay rules to team Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse Notify teammates when games and playoffs are Set preferences up on imleaguesimleagues Inform staff by 5pm day before for a default Forfeit if no notice is given or after 5pm the day before 2 forfeits will result in being dropped from the league 2 defaults will result in disqualification from playoffs

All players must bring ID with them to all contests Cannot change teams once the first contest is played Can add players up through the last regular season game Players must play 1 game to be eligible for playoffs Can only play on 1 co-rec and 1 single-gender team No smoking, drug, or alcohol use Includes e-cigs and other vapor products In case of ejection, must leave facility immediately Meet with IM staff and punishment will be determined

Forfeit will happen if team does not have minimum number of players by game time Minimum # of Players needed to be scheduled No Game Time Additions Must be on the imleagues roster by game time NO EXCEPTIONS! Co-Rec teams must have no more than a 1 gender difference in players

Close-toed athletic shoes Athletic shorts without pockets No jewelry Includes necklaces Headbands only acceptable headwear

6 players on the court Minimum of 4 to start Best of 3 First 2 games to 25, win by 2 or first to 30 Third game to 18 Rally scoring After each game switch sides After 9 points in 3 rd game

The ball shall be considered out of bounds when it hits any surface or subject outside of the court (i.e. official stands, walls, net, and supports outside of court markers, and so forth.) Players may play the ball off the ceiling and basketball nets on their own side of the court. If a ball hits the ceiling while traveling over the net it is counted as out of bounds. A player is allowed to: Leave the court while the ball is in play. Play the ball while standing out of bounds. Cross over the extension of the centerline. Players may not play the ball (i.e. reach over the net to the opponent’s side) while over the extension of the centerline

3 front and 3 back players Rotate clockwise after every side-out Substitution pattern must be used entire game Occurs at the server’s position Would sub out before that player serves Co-Rec: Must sub in for same gender

Positions before Service: Front row players must be completely in front of the respective back line players, The center players must be completely between the players to their left and right Serving Out of Turn: An out of turn serve may be called by an official or challenged by the opponent’s manager. If officials verify an out of turn serve, all points made on the service will be cancelled and a side-out will be declared. If a side-out has already occurred before an out of turn serve in discovered there shall be no loss of points. When found serving out of turn a team must return to their proper rotation immediately.

Blocking: Only front line players may participate in a block. After a block a team has the right to make three more contacts. The individual who initiates the block may also be the first to make contact with the ball. Play Over: Occurs for the following reasons. No point is awarded and the same player re-serves. Inadvertent whistle or official’s mistake. Foreign object entering the court Ball simultaneously held above the net Injured Player Double Fouls

Also called a lift Make sure the ball bounces off the player An open-hand under-hand hit is most often a carry Look for backspin on the ball Ball should rebound off of the hit

You are responsible for learning the rules and relaying then to your team Make sure you know your entire team’s availability Bring all forfeit bonds to IM Office (underneath Rock Wall) Questions?
