WHAT IS GIMP? Gimp is a open program application were you can make retouching to any image you want. You have available the use of Gimp in Mac and Windows program. GIMP stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. You can download it freely in the internet. Basically GIMP is useful for image retouching, image composition, and image authoring.

GIMP TOOLS The tools from Gimp vary from simple drawing tools to cloning tools. Some examples of these tools are: 1. Various selection tools 2. Crop 3. Paintbrush 4. Ink tools 5. Eraser 6. Sheer tool 7. Blend Tools These tools also have the option of font, size, effect, and color changing. For example, you can select a paintbrush that draws stars and suns. In my opinion the most useful tool is the free selection tool because to do any change to a part of the image you have to select it and this tool reduces significantly the amount of work that you have to do.

ADVANTAGES GIMP is free and downloading it is not hard GIMP is relatively easy to use GIMP allows you to add text to an image It has multiple editing options to choose from You can change things as little as the borders of an image to inserting a cloud in the sea

DISADVANTAGES It needs to be downloaded Some features are unclear on how they work The editing options of color are limited, and you cannot change the image to be half a color and half another Managing the layers is not easy, it is difficult

CONCLUSION Gimp is a very useful tool for editing and creating pictures or images. With Gimp a person can do incredible changes to a picture, like: change the size of an image, add borders to an image, add nice effects like floating text to an image, and much more. Downloading Gimp is easy and using Gimp is not very hard, but you do have to experiment with it. Now with Gimp editing your pictures is fun.
