WATER SHED REVIEW

Surface Water Drainage System – Streams flowing into larger streams and rivers, forming a “Treelike” pattern.

What is a Watershed? A Watershed is an area of land that drains to a single outlet. Drainage Divide – ridge separating watersheds

U.S. DRAINAGE BASINS

Water in a drainage basin flows AWAY from the divide and towards the closest body of water!!!!!

Mapping Water Flow Using the maps of Killingworth and Haddam, choose one of the watersheds, outline it in GREEN, highlight the rivers in BLUE, draw arrows in RED that show the direction of water flow, and CIRCLE the outlet to the next waterway.
