VERBS 1. A verb is a word that shows action or state of being.
2. A verb may have physical or mental action. Physical – run, see, jump Mental – believe, worry, want
State-of-being verbs just state that something is. They do NOT show action. Examples - She is a good student. We are Strack Cougars.

5. Verb phrases are made up of two or more words – Main verb + auxiliary (helping) verbs

6. An interrupter is a word that comes between the helping and the main verbs. It is not part of the verb phrase. Example: Alexis will probably make a good grade. It is not raining today.
