Herb Bunker: 1914 NHS Graduate (1914 NHS Graduate): Ph.D. Herb Bunker was one of Missouri's University’s greatest athletes : Missouri University Sports Hall of Fame inductee four-sport letterman assistant coach and long-time director of university's physical education department. Herb Bunker played no high school football in Nevada, MO, but became 60-minute player at Columbia as tackle and center. Won Helms Hall of Fame recognition in basketball (all American), catcher-outfielder in baseball and shot-putter in track. earned Phi Beta Kappa designation. He served briefly as Auburn and Florida assistant coach Kansas City Paseo High School coach Nine years as head coach and director at Culver-Stockton College teamed with Chancey Simpson to coach MU’s1945 Cotton Bowl team.
