BL SAXS End Station (Small Angle X-ray Scattering)

Filter Cross provides five places for filters on pneumatic TLI linear feed throughs similar to those on BL8 PX End station. PSS valve with Be window mounted downstream

Four Jaw Aperture TLI linear actuators same as HHMI beam lines Top and bottom jaws to be curved to match the beam shape.

Helium Box Assembly Be window (25 micron) Four Jaw Aperture BPM112 NM Laser photon shutter with a CCD camera XIA X-Y slits Be window Mounted on a six-strut support system.

SAXS Sample Region SSRL sample holder Newport kinematic mount and positioning

Modular Flight Tube Evacuated chamber to reduce air scattering from sample to detector. Allows for sample to be placed at two positions Be window upstream 200mm wide by 300mm high Kapton window downstream Beam stop adjustable in X and Y directions

Detector and support Support will accommodate a larger detector Positioning stage travel is +7” and –1”

Optical Table 3’ x 9’ Newport table Thompson rail and bearings allow 7” travel for PX operation Six 1” struts support

Evacuated Tube Allows for PX operation Be windows on each end

Laser and Elevated platform Opotek laser for sample mixing Elevated platform for experimental support equipment by 80/20
