45th Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team (WMD- CST)

TEAM OVERVIEW MISSION: Support civil authorities by identifying agents/substances, assessing current and projected consequences, advising on response measures, and assisting with appropriate requests for additional support. KEY CHARACTERISTICS : 57 Federally Funded WMD CSTs DoD Forces Unique to the National Guard Operate only in the US and Territories 22 Full-Time, Title 32 AGR Army and Air Personnel (502f Status) 80% Non-Standard Monitoring and Detection Equipment Sophisticated Communications Reach Back System Interoperable With Civilian Responders

INCIDENT RESPONSE FY07 Appropriations Bill – Section 527 (FY07 NDAA) Expands WMD-CST operations under 10 USC (c) to include immediate response in the US and Territories: Response to intentional or unintentional release of nuclear, biological, radiological, toxic or chemical materials; AND A natural or manmade disaster in the US that results in, or could result in, catastrophic loss of life or property.

UNIFIED COMMAND SUITE Interoperable mobile communications platform with integrated commercial and military hardware providing secure and non-secure reach back capability to on scene Incident Commanders.
