Presentation transcript:

Hmmm… what should I eat? Refrigeration glass containers Liquids: milk, juice, pop  Everything will be made with water!

Fresh meat  first evening meal – bring frozen and sealed Bacon? if sealed will last for 3 to 4 days! Lunch meat… dry salami - sealed 2 nd day, NO sliced deli meat Eggs  yes but be careful! Second day only! Cheese, Tuna, Peanut Butter… Hmmm… what protein should I eat?

Carbohydrates Will get squished! Bagels, pitas Noodles Rice Fruit & Veg. Will get squished! Carrots Apples & oranges = heavy but nice Fruit roll ups as a snack

Considerations: One burner stove, or fire No oven Simple “one pot meal” Dried food Not ``squashable`` it will be in a backpack No pancakes for breakfast No cooking at lunch

Helpful hints 1.Ensure you have enough but no extra – all food is carried and eaten 2.All non-paper packaging comes home with us the more packaging you bring the more garbage that must be portaged! 3.Think about the little extra’s (salt & peper, ketchup etc.) 4.Do what you know but make it good to avoid dinner envy! – there are no backups! 5.Eat well & live well food can make and break a trip
