THE BAROMETER

 Definition:  It is an instrument for measuring atmospheric pressure.  It is used especially by meteorologists in weather forecasting.

THE BAROMETER  Importance:  All weather happens in the atmosphere. Barometers are important because they identify changes in the atmosphere, including changes in air pressure that affect the weather.

THE BAROMETER  Parts:

TYPES OF AIR PRESSURE

 There are 2 types of Air Pressure:

LOW PRESSURE  Low pressure usually means it will be cloudy, rainy, or windy.  Low pressure means no force, or pressure, to push the clouds and storms away.

HIGH PRESSURE  High pressure areas usually create sunny and clear skies.  The higher pressure in the atmosphere pushes all the clouds away.
