The LTE “Cloud-based” Smartphone The “Media Portal” is built using Web 2.0 and cloud computing technologies. The PC is running a “thin client” that is web based with widgets to perform certain functions and features. Media Portal “widgets” are the “Apps” of the LTE Smartphone All of the Apps shown are running simultaneously over a live LTE Connection The demo is presented on a large touch screen monitor to simulate what the experience would be like for an end user on his/her wireless mobile device.

The LTE “Cloud-based” Smartphone Stepping through the applications (1 of 3) Multiview with Fast Channel Change Fast delivery of programming content from up to 6 different channels due to high bandwidth and low latency of LTE Select one of the individual channel streams to display on the main viewing stream Observe the high data bursts required to change the channels and how quickly the video is re-streamed Web Browsing Browse the web from the mobile device. High Bandwidth and low latency combine to enhance the user’s wireless experience. Downloading of rich content on web sites is now even faster! Witness the speeds at which the pages are loading. And again, all this as the other applications and streams are running!

The LTE “Cloud-based” Smartphone Stepping through the applications (2 of 3) Navigation, Google Street View Google maps, with street view allows a much richer experience for the user. Immediately take a first person perspective view of that actual location See your geographic location on the map. When you drag to a new street view, the new view bursts quickly to the screen - wirelessly! Multimedia Browsing (Photo and Video Access/Sharing) Cooliris is an example of a browser plug-in that presents massive amounts of photographic and video images in a dynamic user interface. The lower latency and higher band-width of LTE allows for the Cooliris wall to populate images and videos very rapidly in comparison to other previous genera-tion wireless access networks. Bandwidth on demand - The plug-in loads with a ‘click’

The LTE “Cloud-based” Smartphone Product Demonstrations (3 of 3) Multi-party video conferencing / Personal Telepresence Hold a conference call with multiple colleagues while out of the office from your mobile device without loosing a beat. Latency is under 100ms (one way)! The low latency of LTE combined with an innovative video router from Vidyo enables effective, real- time video conferencing and collaboration. Highlights low latency, increasing the End User Quality of Experience. Mobile desktop virtualization “LTEnterprise” Based on the premise that ubiquitous net computing will foster demand for the kind of mobile broadband services that only 4G networks can enable. Focuses on showcasing enterprise mobility and increased productivity from LTE’s lower latency, network control and quality of experience via clous computing services such as browser based online collaboration tools and virtual desktop infrastructure. Also features advanced media redirection technology that is demonstrated with flash video, streaming video and CAD/CAM types of applications. Conducted in partnership with HP.
