Case study Amy – overseas student Beliefs of conspiracy against her, isolating self, but managing to attend for exams had 1 friend that she maintained trust in Threats to harm others thought she may stab someone Recently under Early Intervention service – concern re Mental Health Act may be required Accepted into CRHT and Joint visit arranged
CRHT progress Agreed to crht although did not believe she was unwell Agreeable to increase in medication – but crht concerned regarding compliance Plan to monitor medication Support and flexibility around exams Joint working with EIS
outcome Thought of harming others significantly reduced Medication compliance was closely monitored Regular contact with CRHT and EIS Amy became less distressed by her beliefs Discharged from CRHT back to EIS planned to return home Beliefs remained unchanged but less intrusive Managed to continue attending for all exams
developments closer links with counselling service – could have made them aware of input (if consent given) No liaison with tutors Minimal contact with accommodation wardens
